DIE LEERE MITTE sets it sights on Potsdamer Platz before Arsenal relocated there as part of its first move. In this early work, media artist and theoretician Hito Steyerl links the redevelopment of this wasteland following the fall of the Berlin Wall in the 90s to the traces of German (colonial and music) history that can also be found there and addresses themes still of relevance today.

DIE AUSSICHT also shows German history in Berlin, in this case the construction of the Wall from the perspective of a West German tenant who can see both the border soldiers and tourists checking out the wall from her window.
